An adaptation of the classic "Twelve Days of Christmas" that follows a multitude of cats enjoying the holiday by chasing ribbons, shredding paper, and climbing the Christmas tree with chaotic results.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave me cats: FOUR on the gifts, THREE dressed up, TWO batting bows, and a kitten under the tree. From chasing ribbons and shredding paper to cuddling by the fire and climbing the Christmas tree (uh-oh), the sweet and mischievious kitties of this take on the classic 'Twelve Days of Christmas' carol teach readers of all ages to celebrate the holiday season in feline fashion. With festive illustrations and text that invites readers to read it (or sing it!) aloud, this charming Christmas picture book is guaranteed to delight any cat lover. These cute cats will steal your heart - and your cookies for Santa!

Author Biography

Feather Flores has not yet learned how to be as regal-or as chaotic-as a cat, but she's working on it. A children's book writer and editor based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she believes that celebrating Christmas with a kitty is the best gift of all.

Carrie Liao resides in Southern California with her cat, Ellie. She works as a storyboard artist by day and an illustrator by night, while Ellie works at sleeping as many hours as possible. Now that she has nieces, Carrie's favourite Christmas activity is pretending to be Santa.

Reviews

?- "A twinkling Christmas tree with all the trimmings is the purrfect playground for the kitties given to the narrator of Flores's funny, furry carol variation....Liao expertly conveys a knowing affection for the kitty characters in winning, fluidly rendered scenes that pinball from frenzied, chaotic action to serene cuddliness." - Publishers Weekly, starred review
"A feline-filled "The Twelve Days of -Christmas" sure to delight picture book readers and cat lovers. A purrfect purchase." - School Library Journal
"Flores' adaptation of the English carol will have feline fans giggling merrily... Liao's mixed-media illustrations, which resemble watercolors, are the real stars of the show. The expressive, hyperactive pusses doing nothing but being cats are a hoot....Festive feline tomfoolery." - Kirkus Reviews
