Author Biography

Dolly Parton was the most honored and revered female singer-songwriter of all time. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, had a record-breaking twenty-eight songs that have reached #1 on Billboard charts, and won hundreds of awards across her career. To date, Parton donated over three hundred million books to children around the world with her Imagination Library and authored successful books for children and adults, including the first book in the Billy the Kid series, instant New York Times bestseller Dolly Parton's Billy the Kid Makes It Big. From her "Coat of Many Colors" to working "9 to 5," no dream was too big and no mountain too high for the country girl who turned the world into her stage. Brooke Boynton-Hughes (she/her) is an artist and illustrator originally from Loveland, Colorado. She received her BFA in printmaking from Colorado State University and her MFA in figurative art from the New York Academy of Art. Brooke works on children's books and travels around the country with her husband, Bill, and their dog, Olive.
