From the blistering heat of her burning village in remote South Sudan to her peaceful Western Sydney street lined with grey gums, the journey of Aduk Dau is many thousands of kilometres long. As you travel through the pages of her memoir, you will cry with her in the darkest valleys, share the joy of her brightest triumphs, and laugh alongside her as life throws unexpected moments of hilarity into even the most difficult and desperate situations.

Throughout her journey, Aduk gives all she has in her fight to hold onto hope, love, and sometimes even life itself. Her steadfast faith and determination weave an inspiring story of resilience and belief that a better day will soon dawn over the horizon.

Aduk Dau is a hardworking South Sudanese Australian incapable of doing only one thing at a time. Wife to Deng, mother to six adult children, sister to thirty-four, nurse, interpreter, community leader, and master storyteller, Aduk shares captivating tales from any moment in her life in exquisite detail, and always leaves her audience wondering how so much could happen in one lifetime.

'It's been my privilege to co-author For hope, love & life itself with Aduk. It is a story worth telling, and even more so, because we've written it for the sake of a cause dear to her heart.' BELINDA PEOPLES - co-author
