Author Biography
Jackson Harvey (Author) Jackson Harvey has always been passionate about art, with a strong interest in painting and drawing from a young age. He was known as 'the LEGO kid' at his school and spent many late nights building models. In the years since, he has spent time studying architecture, worked in tattoo shops around the world, and established a successful career in Australia as a mural artist. Following his 2020 LEGO Masters win with friend and collaborator Alex Towler, Jackson has built LEGO sculpting into his art practice. Jackson and Alex have collaborated on several LEGO projects, and RELICS- A New World Rises represents the next exciting step in their journey together. Alex Towler (Author) Alex has always felt torn between the worlds of art and science. He began his career as an environmental engineer and worked predominantly with natural waterways and urban stormwater drainage. He balanced the logical and technical aspects of engineering with his creative passions by forming multiple punk bands with old school friends and making musical noise at local Perth music venues. After winning LEGO Masters with his long-time friend Jackson Harvey and subsequently creating RELICS- A New World Rises, Alex has found a unique way to blend science and art, using creative solutions to solve technical problems. Cristy Burne (Author) Cristy Burne grew up climbing trees, jumping drains, chasing cows and inventing stories. She has a passion for learning through doing and loves to inspire creativity, daring and resilience in her readers. Cristy is a children's author and science writer with degrees in biotechnology and science communication. She has also worked as a science circus performer, garbage analyst, Santa's pixie, and atom-smashing reporter.
